The world is changing so quickly, and knowledge is power.

Thank you for visiting the daily news. Last year, when I began my blogging career, I wanted have one spot to easily find out what the news really was, even the news that doesn't get get much coverage. So, I compiled a lot of info into one spot. Here is how it is laid out:

* The blog portion below is news of our family, friends or town that end up in the media.

* The side bar feature links to public officials, television news, newspapers, baseball, pundits, Hulu, etc.

* The bottom of the page features links to news networks and websites ... from mainstream to the other sources.

La Pine holds off Sutherlin, defeats reigning champion

Sixth-ranked La Pine defeated No. 1 Sutherlin 47-42 on Friday in an OSAA Class 4A girls basketball semifinal at Gill Coliseum in Corvallis. The Hawks advanced to the championship game for the first time since La Pine went undefeated and won the 1989 Class A title.

Kassi Conditt led La Pine (24-3) with 15 points and 17 rebounds.

A three-pointer by Brooklyn Norman brought Sutherlin (25-1) within 43-42 with 1:14 left, but Maria Ramirez made two free throws to make it a three-point game.

Tess Bennett scored 13 points for Sutherlin.
